"Open the Fuckin' Strait, You Crazy Bastards — Praise Be to Allah": Trump's Easter Rant and Missed Deadlines

On Easter morning, Trump threatened to bomb Iran's power plants and bridges: "Open the Fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell. Praise be to Allah." It was his fourth missed Hormuz deadline. Tehran accused him of planning war crimes.

On Easter Sunday morning, April 5, 2026, the President of the United States posted this on Truth Social:

"Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. Open the Fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah."

He later extended the deadline to Tuesday at 8 PM ET.

The "Praise be to Allah" sign-off on an expletive-laden threat to bomb civilian infrastructure — posted on Easter, the holiest day in Christianity — was condemned as "completely unhinged" from both left and right.

The full list of missed Strait of Hormuz deadlines:

  • March 21: 48-hour deadline to open the Strait "without threat," or U.S. will "hit and obliterate" power plants
  • March 23: Deadline passes. Trump postpones strikes for 5 days, claims "productive conversations." Iran denies any talks. $580M in suspicious oil futures traded before his post.
  • March 28: Five-day deadline passes. No action taken.
  • April 5: New 48-hour deadline: "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day." "Open the Fuckin' Strait."

Each deadline passes. Each threat goes unfulfilled. Each new deadline is announced louder and angrier. Iran hasn't flinched. The Strait remains closed.

Tehran accused Trump of planning to commit war crimes — targeting civilian power plants and bridges that serve the population. Iran threatened to retaliate against infrastructure in Israel and Gulf states. Kuwait reported a Trump-related strike had already taken a water desalination plant offline, affecting civilian water supply.

Over ten days of indirect negotiations through Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey have produced no significant progress. The man who said the war was "nearing completion" is now threatening to bomb power plants on Easter while signing off with "Praise be to Allah" — a phrase that appears to mock the faith of the people he's threatening to leave in darkness.
