Trump Posts AI Image of Himself as Jesus — Even MAGA Calls It "Blasphemy"

Hours after attacking Pope Leo XIV, Trump posted an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus healing a sick man. Even his own supporters called it "gross blasphemy" and an "Antichrist spirit." He deleted it — then claimed he thought it was "me as a doctor" and a "red cross worker." The image shows him in biblical robes emanating divine light.

On the evening of April 13, 2026 — hours after attacking the Pope and calling him "WEAK on Crime" and "terrible for Foreign Policy" — Trump posted an AI-generated image on Truth Social depicting himself as Jesus Christ, healing a sick man while doctors and members of the military watched in adoration. The background featured bald eagles, the Statue of Liberty, a U.S. flag, and fighter jets.

The image was a repost of one originally shared by MAGA influencer Nick Adams in February, framed as Trump healing a "sick" America. But the version Trump posted had been altered: a U.S. soldier visible over Trump's left shoulder in the original had been swapped for a horned, winged creature — prompting users to point out the "demons" in the president's self-portrait as Christ.

The backlash was immediate and, unusually, came from his own base:

  • Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene: "More than blasphemy. It's an Antichrist spirit." She said she "denounced the photo" and was "praying against it."
  • MAGA die-hards on Truth Social called it "gross blasphemy" and "unacceptable"
  • Conservative commentators urged him to remove it immediately
  • Multiple users pointed to the horned figure as evidence the image was demonic

Trump deleted the post Monday morning — a rare retreat from a president who almost never takes down his own posts. But the denial was even better than the deletion. When a reporter asked: "Did you post that picture of yourself depicted as Jesus Christ?" Trump responded:

"It wasn't a depiction. I did post it and I thought it was me as a doctor. And had to do with red cross as a red cross worker, which we support and only the fake news could come up with that one."

A doctor. In flowing white and red biblical robes. Emanating divine golden light from his hands. Surrounded by worshipping onlookers. With eagles, the Statue of Liberty, and fighter jets behind him. A "red cross worker."

The sequence speaks for itself:

  1. Pope Leo XIV rebukes Trump's war on Palm Sunday: "Your hands are full of blood"
  2. Pope Leo calls "a whole civilization will die tonight" "truly unacceptable"
  3. Trump attacks the Pope: "WEAK on Crime," "terrible for Foreign Policy," "stop catering to the Radical Left"
  4. Trump claims credit for the Pope's papacy: "If I wasn't in the White House, Leo wouldn't be in the Vatican"
  5. Trump posts AI image of himself as Jesus Christ
  6. His own supporters call it blasphemy
  7. He deletes it
  8. He claims he thought it was "me as a doctor" and a "red cross worker"

A 79-year-old president who started a war during peace negotiations, threatened to end a civilization, attacked the leader of 1.4 billion Catholics, claimed credit for his papacy, then posted himself as Jesus with a demon over his shoulder — and even Marjorie Taylor Greene thought it went too far.
