Trump Threatened MTG After She Pushed Epstein Files: "My Friends Will Get Hurt"

After Greene signed the Epstein files petition, Trump called and yelled at her, warning his "friends will get hurt." He revoked his endorsement, called her "Marjorie Traitor Greene." She received death threats from MAGA — including a pipe bomb. She resigned from Congress.

Marjorie Taylor Greene — once Trump's most loyal congressional ally — signed the bipartisan Epstein Files Transparency Act discharge petition in September 2025, appearing at a press conference with Epstein survivors. Trump called her afterward and was, in her words, "extremely angry."

Greene recounted on 60 Minutes that Trump told her his "friends will get hurt" by the files being released. She interpreted this as referring not to Epstein's victims but to powerful men whose names might appear in the documents.

The consequences for standing up for trafficking victims:

  • Trump revoked his endorsement and coined the nickname "Marjorie Traitor Greene"
  • He called her a "low IQ traitor," "rotten apple," "washed up," and "very dumb person"
  • Greene reported receiving 773 death threats — with a critical shift: threats now came from MAGA supporters, not the left
  • A pipe bomb was thrown at her house
  • Direct death threats were made against her son
  • Greene posted: "I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world. The man I supported and helped get elected."

Greene resigned from Congress on November 21, 2025, saying: "Standing up for American women who were raped at 14, trafficked and used by rich powerful men, should not result in me being called a traitor and threatened by the President of the United States."

Greene later said of MAGA influencers mocking Epstein's victims: "All of you look like cult fools." On 60 Minutes, she warned: "The dam is breaking" in the Republican Party. She was right about the Epstein files — and the price for being right was everything.
